Review: AMUR Car phone holder for car vent

I recently had the chance to try the AMUR car phone mount – I had been looking for something to hold my phone so I can use my phone hands free with ease and this fit the bill. The car mount is very easy to install, just slip on the vent and slip your phone in the holder. My phone is a little over 3” wide so I had to pull the sides to slide my phone in the phone mount. It is a little difficult to hold the mount fully open when I was inserting my phone because of the grip on the phone mount.

This phone mount comes in two parts - the phone holder and the part that attaches to the car vent, which is fastened to the holder with a ball-and-socket.

The joint on this mount is a bit "sticky" feeling but not slippery.. It has a full 360 degree rotation, so you can use your phone at any angle, but takes a bit of force to turn or move.

Review: Whiskey Stones By Iron Stones

I have to admit, I don't normally drink whiskey on the rocks but when I had the opportunity to try these whiskey stones, I was definitely interested in giving it a try.

I am now a convert! I will say I used these drink stones in my regular drink to keep it cold and loved it since I never seem to have ice made and ready to go in my freezer.

To get started, wash the stones and let dry. I put the dry stones in my freezer for the recommended 2-3 hours and used them in my seltzer to cool it down. I had no issues. The only pointer I would give is to really use a glass that's wide at the bottom so the stones lay in a single layer and don't stack. I can how stacking the stones could potentially crack the glass or even your teeth if you aren't careful.

Once I was done using the stones in my drink, I washed them again and let them dry. They are now in my freezer ready to be used at any time.

The only thing about these stones I found funny is the box, there was a typo on it so I hope they've corrected that for anyone else that purchases these.

XY QY7 Bluetooth Headphones

I recently had the chance to try out these XY Bluetooth headphones. I haven't had much experience with Bluetooth headphones as these are only the second pair I've tried but I really liked using these.

If you are like me, you constantly get tangled up in your earbud or headphone cords in your way because they always seem to be in your way. With these I didn't have the issue, the cord wraps around the back of your neck when using them.

They are very easy to use straight from the box - simply charge these up, follow the instructions and pair with your phone and you are ready to use. These paired quickly with my Android phone and the sound was clear and crisp.

I really like that you are able to pair two Bluetooth devices at the same time with one set of headphones. You can stream music and answers calls -- a great bonus feature.

Review: Sound Intone X6 Gaming Headset

I gave the Sound Intone X gaming headset as an early Christmas gift and they were used immediately with not a single complaint. They are super easy to use, just plug in and start using. One thing I noticed is that they aren't USB plug in which I had assumed but it has a mic/headphone jack which is even better so you can use them anywhere.

I love that these have a braided wire - for some reason I think these hold up better to the constant plugging in and out than a regular cable.

On the headset are controls for volume which is a nice feature to have. Also there is a built in vibrator system to match what you are seeing in the game. These are comfortable to wear. We had no problems using them immediately.

INST Solar Powered Copper Wire String Lights

I'll admit -- at first I thought solar lights wouldn't work due to some past experiences I've had with solar lights not living up to their expections. I am so glad I was proven wrong. The set of over 200 LED lights spans 66 ft so it's really long. They look just like all the other twinkle LED lights on a wire but with the added bonus of them being solar -- running off natural light -- unlike battery or plug in lights. These are great for outdoor areas where you don't have a plug nearby and if you are like me when you constantly never have enough batteries and get tired of replacing them.

There are 8 light modes that are easy to set. To use, simply charge the solar panel for 6 hours and turn on. The light will turn on automatically at dusk or when it get dark enough. It will turn off automatically when it runs out of charge or gets light enough out.

If you get stuck, the instructions that come with the set are easy to read and follow.

I love lighting outside and with LED sets like this, outdoor lighting is a breeze. These lights are great.

Puptek: Squeaky Puppy Dog Chew Toy

This is such a cute little dog toy. I absolutely love that it looks like wild duck. When you squeeze the duck's belly it has a fairly loud (but not terribly annoying) squeaker, along with some crinkling. The rest of the toy appears to be a regular stuffed toy. The only thing strange about this toy is that it has a little loop that you can hook the toy to hang it up.

I brought this in for my co-workers dog who was in the office the other day and they loved playing with it. The pup loved it so much that I let my co-worker take the toy home. I loved watching the dog toss it around and have fun.

The toy is a bit on the pricey side for dog toys but with a small dog you won't really worry about them ripping this apart like a larger dog (the toy is approx 8" long). I can see this lasting for a small dog, for a larger dog, I can see them ripping it to shreds in a matter of minutes.

SMARTED Vegetable Fruit Julienne Peeler

I love adding julienne vegetables to stir fry and salads but have never had the right tool for the job – until now. This dual kitchen tool not only juliennes vegetables but peels them too. It’s great for apples, pears, potatoes, carrots, cucumbers and so much more.

I really like this peeler comes with a brush to clean out in between the peeler and julienne slicer. It also comes with S hooks for hanging in your kitchen if you need to do that.

This peels vegetables with ease on one side, flip it to the other side and you can julienne on the other. I was surprised by how quickly I made strings of carrot for a garnish. After reading up on different things to do with a julienne cutter – my most favorite is on potatoes. You can make hash browns that are so much more fresh and healthier than frozen potatoes.

Not only is this peeler ultra-sharp, but it is dishwasher safe and made of high-quality stainless steel. I did wash this by hand and had no issues doing so. Stainless steel is so easy to keep clean, just wash with soap and water and it is ready to use for next time.

I love that this is two tools in one. It’s a wonderful addition to the kitchen.
