Review: Srasi Pan and Pot Protectors

I recently was at the mall and saw pan and pot protectors just like these and almost bought them so when I had the chance to review these I jumped at the chance. When they arrived I couldn't wait to use them to help protect and organize my pans. With limited cabinet space stacking pans is essential.

This arrived in a set of 6 -- 3 of each size so there were plenty to use for my pans as I didn't need to use a lot of them. These are so easy to use, simply place between your pans to protect them from scratching.

You can also use these to protect glassware, bakeware, dishes, bowls and much much more.

The sizes that come with this set are 15, 11 and 7 inch rounds so it will fit between any type of pan you need them to, if they are too large, you can simply cut down to size. If they get dirty, wash by hand and lay flat to dry. It doesn't get more simple than that to take care of these.

I really like these pan and pot protectors, I can see using them for much more than pots and pans, they really are versatile and a must have for kitchen storage.

Review: Whiskey Stones By Iron Stones

I have to admit, I don't normally drink whiskey on the rocks but when I had the opportunity to try these whiskey stones, I was definitely interested in giving it a try.

I am now a convert! I will say I used these drink stones in my regular drink to keep it cold and loved it since I never seem to have ice made and ready to go in my freezer.

To get started, wash the stones and let dry. I put the dry stones in my freezer for the recommended 2-3 hours and used them in my seltzer to cool it down. I had no issues. The only pointer I would give is to really use a glass that's wide at the bottom so the stones lay in a single layer and don't stack. I can how stacking the stones could potentially crack the glass or even your teeth if you aren't careful.

Once I was done using the stones in my drink, I washed them again and let them dry. They are now in my freezer ready to be used at any time.

The only thing about these stones I found funny is the box, there was a typo on it so I hope they've corrected that for anyone else that purchases these.

SMARTED Vegetable Fruit Julienne Peeler

I love adding julienne vegetables to stir fry and salads but have never had the right tool for the job – until now. This dual kitchen tool not only juliennes vegetables but peels them too. It’s great for apples, pears, potatoes, carrots, cucumbers and so much more.

I really like this peeler comes with a brush to clean out in between the peeler and julienne slicer. It also comes with S hooks for hanging in your kitchen if you need to do that.

This peels vegetables with ease on one side, flip it to the other side and you can julienne on the other. I was surprised by how quickly I made strings of carrot for a garnish. After reading up on different things to do with a julienne cutter – my most favorite is on potatoes. You can make hash browns that are so much more fresh and healthier than frozen potatoes.

Not only is this peeler ultra-sharp, but it is dishwasher safe and made of high-quality stainless steel. I did wash this by hand and had no issues doing so. Stainless steel is so easy to keep clean, just wash with soap and water and it is ready to use for next time.

I love that this is two tools in one. It’s a wonderful addition to the kitchen.

Review: Wuudi Stainless Zester/Grater

This zester arrived just in time for me to use it immediately as I was planning on making homemade cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving and my recipe calls for adding a bit of orange so I used this grater to zest an orange. I have to say I've used graters before and they all pretty much work the same way -- for zesting fruit like oranges or lemons or to finely shred cheese on top of pasta.

The handle of this is soft and the metal is made of stainless steel. What I really like is that it comes with a protective cover so you can easily store it with your other utensils when not in use.

These hand graters are so much easier to use for fine grating rather than a box grater which takes a lot of effort to clean. I just threw this in my top dishwasher rack when done

Review: Rye-Tech LED Strip Light

I know I've mentioned my home improvements numerous times already but we missed having under cabinet lights when we renovated our kitchen and really wanted to install them for lighting. After some research we decided to go with strip LED lights. These Rye-Tech Strip lights were just what we were looking for.

These lights have a full range of colors - red, blue, yellow, green, purple, pink, white and I'm sure others I'm missing. You can program the lighting you want to use or you can use a preset fade or blink. I like that you can set the brightness of the lights to what suits your needs. You also can cut these to whatever size you need - simply cut on on the marks noted on the strip. The lighting strip is very long so it will fit under our cabinets no problem.

The light set comes with everything you need -- a LED strip set with adhesive on one side for attaching (for our under cabinet lighting we will most likely tack it to the underside of our cabinets), a battery powered remote control with battery and plug for the wall. 

We liked these lights so much we purchased a second set for additional under cabinet lighting in our kitchen.

Review: Collapsible kitchen colanders

I am sick of the big colanders I have taking up a lot of room in my kitchen.  This set of collapsible colanders take up such little room in my kitchen cabinets and are great for small kitchens when you don’t have a lot of storage.

This package contains two strainers – 8 and 9 ½ inches in diameter. You can them for anything that needs to be strained – pasta, fruit, berries, produce and much more. I have metal colanders which means when you pour hot food in them, the handles get really hot. These are made of silicone and pop up with a push and you won’t have to worry about them getting hot.

These colanders do say they are heat resistant up to 176ºF. I used them to wash off produce and had no issues, the only thing I saw missing was that it would be great to have little feet on the bottom so the water can drain a bit more if you place it over something, otherwise these worked great.

Review: Cast Iron Trivet

With our new kitchen counters, trivets are so important because putting a hot plate or pan on the counter can damage your counters. I can never seem to have enough trivets around and this trivet provided exactly what I need. It looks great and protects my counters from hot plates and food.

This trivet is really heavy – and is made of solid cast iron in a vintage type design. I like that it comes with rubber feet to add a level of protection and to prevent scraping across your kitchen counter. The edges are not sharp and are rounded if that’s a concern for you. The trivet is a square and is 6.5” x 6.5” this trivet now has a permanent home on my counter next to the stove.

A must in the kitchen!

I purchased these Silicone Spatulas by KUM&KUM, and this three pack of spatulas are the best I have ever purchased. They are heavy weight, the handle doesn’t bend, like some of the cheaper spatulas I have purchased in the past. They each have a great grip as well. They are high quality and a must in the kitchen. I wish I bought these years ago.

They are heat-resistant silicone can withstand up to 425 Degrees and dishwasher safe.
