Review: Green Iron Outdoor Garden Planter Hooks

If you haven't figured it out by now, we are renovating our home and doing a lot of work both inside and out. Our yard and garden is still undergoing a lot of work but this planter hook is exactly what we use to hang plants on our fence posts outside in the warmer weather.

This outdoor garden planter hook is made of powder coated iron and comes with 2 screws to hang. You can hang whatever you'd like on it -- plants, bird feeders, chimes, lanterns, flags and so much more.

It's great for hanging plants from our fence posts in the garden. Right now we are using it to hang Christmas lights! It's working exactly how I planned. This is a great hook.

The Green Iron Outdoor Garden Planter Hook is available on Amazon.

Review: Rubber Door Stoppers

There's not much I can say about a door stop - it holds the door open, which is what it's supposed to do. What I like about these door holders is the material, they are a heavy rubber that seems to "stick" to the floor and the door holding it in place. To use, slide under your door and pull gently to hold the door in place. The door stays in place until you remove the wedge and need to close the door.

These do have a white adhesive holder that you can use to stick to hold the door stopper but I know I'll be using the door stop without it.

I like that this comes in a two pack because door so you have a backup in case you misplace one. These are great everyday door stoppers.

Premium Rubber Door Stoppers - 2 Pack Door Stop Wedge Door Gaps With Holders - LAVATO are available on Amazon.

Review: PQ Earplugs

I've gone to over 100 concerts and once you been to that many concerts, earplugs are a must have to protect your hearing. These are also good to use for loud noises in everyday life -- like cutting the grass or for anything that has a prolonged loud noise.

The PQ earplugs are a great way to reduce the decibels to 28 db. I'm not an expert on what is a safe level so it's best to consult with an expert if you are concerned about loud noises and hearing loss.

These PQ earplugs (which stands for Peace and Quiet - catchy) cut out that excess noise like concerts, work or flying in an airplane. These plugs are super comfy as they are made of soft silicone. I have a pair I just just for concerts and these earplugs are a lot like the pair I have.  I really like that the PQ earplugs come with a case to store them in.

To use pull up on the top of your ear and insert the earplug. To remove, simply twist slowly. To clean remove the white filter inside and clean with a damp cloth, you can also wash them with warm soapy water. After wearing them one afternoon, I didn't even realize they were in -- they are that comfortable to wear.

For me, earplugs are a must have to protext my hearing, I can't live without them.

PQ Earplugs are available on Amazon.

Review: Rye-Tech LED Strip Light

I know I've mentioned my home improvements numerous times already but we missed having under cabinet lights when we renovated our kitchen and really wanted to install them for lighting. After some research we decided to go with strip LED lights. These Rye-Tech Strip lights were just what we were looking for.

These lights have a full range of colors - red, blue, yellow, green, purple, pink, white and I'm sure others I'm missing. You can program the lighting you want to use or you can use a preset fade or blink. I like that you can set the brightness of the lights to what suits your needs. You also can cut these to whatever size you need - simply cut on on the marks noted on the strip. The lighting strip is very long so it will fit under our cabinets no problem.

The light set comes with everything you need -- a LED strip set with adhesive on one side for attaching (for our under cabinet lighting we will most likely tack it to the underside of our cabinets), a battery powered remote control with battery and plug for the wall.

We liked these lights so much we purchased a second set for additional under cabinet lighting in our kitchen.

The Rye-Tech 5m 5050SMD Full Kit LED Strip Light set is available on Amazon.

Review: Canyoze 120 to 3000 Grit Sandpaper Assortment

We’ve been doing non-stop home renovations for the past two years and we always seem to misplace certain grits of sandpaper. With this assortment of sandpaper, we have what we need on hand. This assortment has a variety of grits to use and is pre-cut to the perfect size to wrap around sanding blocks. You can wet or dry sand wood or metal with this paper, it is recommended that you check what grit you use based on the material you are sanding.

This assortment is great for any workshop.

Canyoze 120 to 3000 Grit Sandpaper Assortment is available on Amazon.

Review: Acko Crimping Tool & Terminals Assortment Set

We are doing a lot of renovations to our home and this crimper/stripper for some wiring was a welcome addition to our toolbox so I could help my husband with some work around the house. He has a tool he uses all the time so tool is an addition to supplement that.

I like that is has the ability to crimp the ends of things but also to strip wires when you are doing electrical work and a built in wire cutter. This tool is pretty basic, I thought it would have a spring action but I now realize after using it, it is definitely better that it’s not -- goes to show what I know about tools! This did what I needed it to, cut wires, stripped them and allowed you to crimp them.

What I like is all the different connections it comes with because you always run out, with these additions we won’t worry about running out. A great basic tool, but I’m going to leave the electrical work to my husband!

The Acko Crimping Tool and Terminals Assortment set is available on Amazon.

Home Improvements are the Pits

We've recently been doing a lot of home improvements ourselves to our house so when I was offered the opportunity to try this HICO replacement blade for a table saw I knew it would come in handy. While I didn't personally put this in my table saw my husband did and he said this was a great blade for the money. He uses blades like this all the time when cutting softwood, hardwood or plywood. It worked for his table saw with ease and he had no issues. He said it was a great blade for the money, granted there are more expensive blades you can purchase but for what he needed it for this worked great.

It worked on our table saw no problem. You can also use blades like this on a miter or circular saw but we primarily will use this on a table saw. We've already used it to cut plywood for our floor installation.

The HICO blade is available on Amazon.
